For this shoot, I wanted to capture some fun photos that would work well on a website selling the shoes. I decided a white background and a clean, simple look would be the best approach. As always, I started with some e-commerce shots, showcasing the details and colors of the shoes.

Next, I moved on to showcasing the shoes with a model. It’s always helpful to see how shoes look on someone and how they pair with an outfit. Since these are dad shoes, the model wore a dad-inspired outfit, while still keeping it trendy.
Now for the fun part. I wanted to create the illusion of the shoes walking on their own. I wasn’t sure if it would work, but I was eager to give it a try. I had my model take a small step forward and freeze immediately. I captured that shot to get the bend in the shoe, then asked him to keep the shoes in place, take them off, and hold the back one up at an angle. My plan was to align the backs in post-production. Here are the photos used in the final shot.
