Naomi’s Field

“Naomi’s Field” came at a hard time for me. Dealing with mental health struggles is something I do not hide from. This piece was made immediately after “New Beginnings”. It represents a tough, painful, but ultimately rewarding period of personal growth for me. Learning how to paint with gouache and pushing through the struggles is one of the things that eventually helped me out of the hole where I was living. As a Christian, I know that God used this time of hardships to create something I never would have had before - learning how to paint with gouache. Now, gouache is what I use most. Without that time of struggle, I would not be the person and artist I am today.
