Native Conditioner Product Photography
Experimenting with new techniques is one of my favorite parts of photography. For this shoot, I wanted the conditioner to appear as if it was being dropped into water. My original plan was to use one of the clear bowls we had in the studio, but after experimenting with them, I quickly realized that wouldn’t work. As I searched the studio for something that could help bring my idea to life, I found a small clear container that was originally packaging for something or another. Despite its size, it turned out to be my best option. I took countless shots of me dropping the bottle into it, eventually editing multiple photos together to create the final look. Of course, I always start with an e-commerce shot, as seen below.
These are some of the photos I used to create my final image. Instead of dropping it into the water, I hand-dunked it so that the splash would be more controlled. As you can expect, I made a huge mess. You can see in these photos that I put the clear packaging on top of an upside-down mug inside of a plastic container to help minimize the mess. It only helped a little. After the difficulties, I decided that getting a glass fish tank for the studio would make the process easier.
