Tyler Joseph Painting
Gouache on Watercolor Paper - 6”x7”
To practice my gouache skills, I chose to paint Tyler Joseph from Twenty One Pilots, one of my favorite musicians. I’ve always loved the bold colors in his branding, so I decided to create a piece that pays homage to the Blurryface era.
I began with a digital thumbnail. Aiming to make the composition feel more dynamic, I extended his head and the plants beyond the borders of the background.

When painting the background, I decided to make the maroon a more washed look since I loved how the first layer dried.
Here are the final results!
